Three nights of opera, music, and celebration in the town square

On Thursday (28th), Friday (29th) and Saturday (30th), the Opera Fest comes to Bansko with three unforgettable evenings of live music in the town square. This will be the final music event of the summer in Bansko town.

Here’s what the performances will be:

  • Thursday, 8.30pm: Aladdin a musical for young and old

  • Friday, 8.30pm: Rigoletto Verdi's classic masterpiece

  • Saturday, 8.30pm: Gala evening featuring Italian tenor Hugo Tarquini

(Last year, some of the performances started slightly before the official start time 🤷.)

It’ll be good to see if the organisers for the Opera Fest have been able to increase the visitor numbers by the same percentage as the Jazz Festival managed earlier this month.

Before You Go…

It looks like this coming weekend will be busy in town with the Opera Fest. The weekend after (5-8th of September) is the final weekend of events for the summer and Unification Day weekend, so it will be busy in town too.

If you’re travelling to or from Bansko at the weekend, plan for extra time. There have been more news reports over the weekend of road traffic collisions on the road from Bansko to Simitli, which has caused the road to be closed on multiple occasions. Not sure if it’s speed, people not knowing the road, or weekend drivers, but it certainly feels like there are more instances this year.
