Six bands, big crowds, and a little thunder couldn’t stop the fest

One of the main summer events, the Bansko Rock Fest, took place this weekend, with six bands performing over three nights: Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Unfortunately, a thunderstorm arrived in town around 40 minutes before the first performance on Thursday, which meant that many people either stayed inside and didn’t attend or got soaked for an hour or so.

The town was buzzing all weekend and the other two nights were well attended, with around 300-400 people watching the two bands perform last night. If you want to watch the first band from Saturday’s performance, then head here or look through some photos here.

Before You Go…

This week was a busy one, with many things happening in town.

Around the main square, all the restaurants and mehanas were busy to full, with hundreds of people either eating and drinking inside or in the main square listening to the bands at the Rock Fest. The town had the feeling that it was getting ready for the Jazz Fest in two weeks: an event that many of us were looking forward to.

Until next week, when we celebrate the Bansko Buzz’s first birthday! 🎉
