Easter Weekend: Great Conditions, Lower Prices
Issue #89
In this week’s Buzz:
Tourist numbers up year-on-year for February
Great conditions on the mountain as the town prepares for Easter celebrations
Are there any nightclubs still open in Bansko?
Beehive: what happened to local police chiefs?
Information about end-of-season parties that you don’t want to miss
Easter celebrations in Bansko this coming weekend
Season extended, ski passes reduced, and a busy holiday weekend ahead.

As we head into the final week of the season, the conditions on the mountain are holding up well.
And, because Orthodox Easter is this coming weekend, the season has been extended by one day, ski pass prices have been reduced (one-day pass from 59€ to 45€), and a holiday concert will take place in the main square this coming Sunday (details in the events section).
To what started as a “meh” kind of season (for both conditions and tourist numbers compared to last season), it’s turned into quite a good ending: this weekend, there were quite a lot of people in town, those wanting to go on the mountain and others wanting to stay in town and do all of the touristy bits.
It will be more of the same next weekend, just with not as much sun on the last few days and the typical changing weather. The expectation is for a busy weekend, both on the mountain and in town.
If you celebrated Easter today and you’re confused, don’t be. Different branches of Christianity celebrate Easter on different dates in some years. Here’s to ending the winter season with happiness and celebration.
Community & Coworking at Altspace
Our community bridges the gap between the Bansko community and working online at a coworking space, bringing people together by challenging each other on Side Hustle Day, enjoying dinner together in a local restaurant, painting & wine, or chilling and talking about everything and nothing at Friday Beers.
If you want to join a community and coworking space that offers the right work-life balance, then book a trial day with Altspace Coworking. It’ll be one of the best decisions you’ll make.

Can Everyone Cleanup Their Dog’s Poop Please
Zdravka posted asking all dog owners to clean up after their dog(s) when out walking, as she’d seen lots of deposits around town. There was a little discussion around why certain nationalities were mentioned and why the post was written in English.
Sauna Gondola Coming to Bansko (April Fool)
Christer posted a story about a sauna gondola coming to Bansko for next winter season. A nice story and a bit of a giggle.

Before You Go…
It looks like lots of dates have been confirmed for festivals and events over the summer in Bansko. If you weren’t aware, the town has what many would consider an abundant calendar of summer festivals and events that start in June and continue into September. It feels like this summer is going to be quite busy in Bansko.
I’ll be sharing details about event changes (and the programme) in the Beehive over the next few weeks, so if you want super early access to that information then head to the link above. Once the local municipalities have formally published the programmes, I’ll bring them up in an issue of the Buzz.
And if you heard the news about police chiefs being replaced in the region and wondered what the real reason was, I’ve shared that story in the Beehive, too. 😉
